Ottawa Newborn Photographer {Baby Rose}

April 20, 2011

First times are hard. Remember that first day at school? The first ride solo on your 2 wheeler bike? Exhilarating, but a little scary…..? This week I had a first time. My very first newborn photo session. And it lived up to all first time expectations…. I have photographed this family before, and I’m so grateful they volunteered to be my guinea pigs for this. And their baby….ohhhhh, just the sweetest ever.

It was a great learning time for me. Lovely Rose stayed awake to take in the whole session, despite and her Mum’s and my best efforts to get her to sleep, but, you know what? It didn’t matter. I got to let go of that expectation, work around my plan, and I’m in love with the resulting images. Here are some of my favourites. Hope you like them too šŸ™‚

    These are awesome, Kate! You did great. I especially like the hands, feet, and that beautiful basket shot! Oh, and the last one… and the one with the big brother… geez. They are all great šŸ™‚

    We adore these pics- they couldn’t have come out better! Thank you so much!

    I particularly love the shot of Rory with Rose and I’m thinking that I might ask your permission to use it as my home page/’brand image’ for Cherish. It just speaks volumes in so many ways!!

    Delightful pictures – I will have to move house to get enough wall space for all your excellent work!
